Art Museums, Seafood, and IKEA, OH MY!

this week was my spring break, so mom, rich and i decided to have a family day.
we went to the Cincinnati Art Museum first. it was WONDERFUL! it was a large and beautifully built building, which had asian, african, egyptian, european, and contemporary art. one wing was devoted to American artists. we saw picasso (not uncommon though, he did a LOT of stuff), van gogh, monet, pissarro, renoir, cezanne, and quite a few i hadn't heard of. i wrote down a lot of names for future look ups. it was free and i highly recommend going.
while we were heading out, i was surprised by seeing my current drawing teacher there with his wife and daughter (i assume). he didn't see me though. ^_^
we then headed to Joe's Crab Shack on the Kentucky side of the river because mom wanted us to be able to see the river while we ate.
then off to IKEA. i'd never been there before, that place is crazy and awesome. I saw many things there that caused me to have visions of my distant future apartment. i'll definitely have to go back when i have money and am about to move out.
i did end up buying a cheap side table (i don't need now anyways), a laptop table (i kind of don't really need), and a laptop lap table whihc i am using right now. all of it was only thrity dollars. i would have LOVED to buy one of the many $130 chairs i found there, but oh well. ^_^
got home at 8:00. what a nice day it was, but i had a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach when we got home because i realized now that i only have THREE days left! AHHHHH! and homework calling my name! AHHHHHAHHHHHHHHHHH!
oh well, i'll get it done. ^_^
LOTS OF LOVE TO ALL OF YOU!

this is rich in something blue .....
and rich by something blue .....

this is the car that can run on water (on top of water, like a boat)

something yellow

something gray

something strange

they took this one for me because it's green ^_^

rich in something red

this is a picture from today, i decided to clean the refrigerator and organize the cupboards where i discovered this. the green sprouting thing on the right is an onion and the thing on the left is a potato with a long white root growing out of it.

tick, tock, tick, tock

with daylight savings time upon us,
i thought about sharing my clock collection with you all.
here goes:
CLOCKS OF THE BASEMENT:

this one isn't really mine (it's Jeremy and Kristin's),
but it seemed so pretty and i thought it a waste to have
it sitting around and not ticking, so i hung it up. ^_^

a thrift store find, i thought about painting it,
but the post it note has started to grow on me.

two clocks waiting for a battery, the one on the
left needs a paint job, but i don't know what yet ...

also not mine, it's Jeremy's. it's cool because each number
is on a twelve-sided die.

a fly swatter clock that mom and rich bought for me
on valentinte's day.

here's a close-up of it. the little fly goes around the clock every minute
because it's on the second hand. ^_^ cool!
thrift store find, my dr. seuss clock

thrift store find

thrift store find, it's my bird clock. every hour, a different bird call is heard.

broken christmas clock number 2, mom bought for me for christmas
it was supposed to play a part of a christmas song every hour.
but does not.

CLOCKS OF MY ROOM:

modified clock of mine, i painted part of it. i originally
meant to paint all of it but didn't ...... for some reason ......

modified clock, used to be in our kitchen.
i redid the clock face with a bunch of doodles.

thrift store find, fun strawberry clock

thrift store find, a wonderful square clock. look at those lovely hands!

a clock that was in rich's condo. it's always slow though,
new battery or not. but as long as it ticks, it's fun!
broken christmas clock number 1,
thrift store find. it was suppose to play parts
of christmas songs at every hour, but no.

hobby lobby purchase, 50% off. i had my eye on it for a month.
pictures of loved ones and me!

dollar store purchase, i bought it because it has a pendulum! yay!

barbie clock from tiff for my birthday.
i don't much like barbie, that's why tiff bought it and made me hang it up .... so cruel

did you keep count?
it was (drum roll),
17
working clocks
2 waiting for batteries

along with two wrist watches, because i only wear them at work.

and my AWESOME cuckoo clock necklace.
that tiff brought to my attention because she's just that sweet! ^_^
thanks tiff!

i think i might be rubbing off on mommy.
this is the clock she bought today for her liviing room.
alright, have a good weekend and don't
forget to change your clocks forward.
which reminds me, i better get to that . . .
i've got a lot to do. ^_^
LOTS OF LOVE FROM
ME!

The Quest of the Cupcake

This past weekend I was called on a quest,
a quest to find the rumored Sacred Cupcake Kitchen.

So I headed for the mountains, because with all good an epic quests they begin in the mountains.

I took with me a suave sage to navigate for me,

and a lovely jester to keep me amused.

Once we passed over the mountains, we trekked through the Mysterious Random Bamboo Forest, fighting off the foes that lurked within.

Once we made it out of the Mysterious Random Bamboo Forest, we were scathed but it was all worth it to gaze upon the beauty of the Lovely Princess. She fed us, sheltered us, and gave us much needed tokens of delicious chocolate. My comrades seemed to enjoy themselves so much there, that I decided to leave them and sneak away alone to continue on my perilous quest.

After three days and five nights, I came upon the Mastermind Brendanbear. I asked him to share his vast knowledge with me, in hopes that he would direct me to the Sacred Cupcake Kitchen.

He talked in riddles and then made me pass through his gilded door.

I came upon a stream, following the riddled advice of Mastermind Brendanbear.
I sat and dwelt upon the riddles that he used to direct me ...

going up and down, back and forth, on what he could have meant. Until, like lightning, understanding struck me. I ran, with new confidence, knowing now where the Sacred Cupcake Kitchen was.

When I arrived, I beamed at the detailed pillows ...

adorned myself in the Sacred Garb of the Sacred Cupcake Kitchen ...

and made friends with those who lived there.

My heart was happy, for at long last my quest to seek out the Sacred Cupcake Kitchen had been successful.

okie doke, my lovelies. I decided to be different this time. If you want a more realistic account of our weekend in Tenessee, or see more of Brendan's new office, visit;

I LOVE YOU ALL!
